Our schools has a strong commitment to sustaining our environment.
We are very proud of the eco credentials of our school building and our children will learn about ways that we can have a positive impact on the sustainability of our planet. We have plans for some exciting community projects such as developing our school grounds to include a forest school area ; places to grow fruit, vegetables and plants and places to enjoy learning outside of the classroom.
We also have an Eco Committee set up of children and staff within the school. They meet every half term to discuss issues and share ideas on sustainability and how we can be more eco-friendly. They, along with the rest of the pupils in school, are helping us work towards gaining our Ec0 Schools Award. We are very proud to have been awarded our Silver certificate already and we are now working towards the Green Flag.
We began by completing an Environment Audit and from this we made an action plan on how we can move forward. We hold regular meetings to ensure we are on track with our projects and are making plan as to how to move forward. Our projects this year are:
- Improving school grounds
- Living a healthy life
- Marine preservation
